2nd generation nexus 7 could be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Processor

The next model of Asus-made Google Nexus 7 tablet will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor instead of NVIDIA Tegra 3 quad-core processor, according to Pacific Crest analyst Michael McConnell. McConnell thinks Google leaved Nvidia because Qualcomm proposed it a better offer, most probably one that would permit it to retail the tablet for less without reducing performance.

He added two reasons for Google’s selection of the Snapdragon S4 Processor over Tegra – competitive pricing and a choice to single-source for processor and 3G/4G modem to simplify logistics and generate a completely friendly platform interface.

The second-generation Nexus 7 is rumored to release in Google’s I/O conference 2013 (May 15 to May 17)  with Android Key Lime Pie running, the tablet is also tipped to include a Full HD screen and anticipated to retail for equal price as the original Nexus 7 on Google’s Play store.
